When it comes to digital signs and displaying content, we are awesome at creating and displaying our own information, but not so great about sharing that content with others. Often, the reason for not sharing isn’t because we don’t want to, it’s because we don’t know how to.
Coordinating content sharing in a decentralized higher education environment can seem like a daunting task. Learn how we developed a process to bring our network of more than 50 units managing over 500 signs at multiple campus locations together to allow for easy and efficient content sharing while still giving each unit the freedom to display what they want, when they want.
Jeff SechlerMultimedia Specialist
Going strictly by title, Jeff Sechler is a Multimedia Specialist at Penn State. That's really just a generic title to consume all the duties he actually does: webmaster, graphic designer, programmer, content strategist, marketing coordinator, communications specialist, and whatever other interesting project gets thrown his way. He is primarily responsible for the web presence of the Division of Undergraduate Studies as well as managing all of the digital signage for multiple units within Undergraduate Education and one of the leads in the content sharing initiative at the university. With a former life in television news, he has a passion for sharing information and content to the masses.
